A couple of months ago, I had the opportunity to be a guest on Pat Flynn's Ask Pat podcast and I had such a blast. I really felt like Pat understood what I am doing (and trying to do), and he had excellent advice that I know I can use -- and so can you.
This episode not only provided me with with the opportunity to think out loud with a successful entrepreneur and learn from his experience, but also share that process with you.
Check out what Pat had to say about me:
"Michelle's become this amazing voice for the English teaching community to help people decide, which makes sense for them. And it's not like she's saying, 'Hey, this is where everybody should go.' It's like, 'Hey, this is what you need to think about, and once you make that decision, I'm here to serve you,'" Pat said.
In our interview, we talked about how my main industry -- educational publishing for teachers is shifting, perhaps even dying as teachers transition out of the classroom -- and how my answer to that is to diversify my business.
We also talked about surveying my audience, curating and analyzing data to establish yourself as an expert in your industry. We played around with the idea of teachers using those virtual skills they've honed over the past two years to develop their own platform, and how I am helping teachers and entrepreneurs figure out what is the right thing to do - and modeling that by asking for input from someone, myself.
