Tools I Use

People frequently ask me about the tools and software I use in my businesses. The following list contains the tools I use, resources I recommend and a few things I've created. For the record, I may be an affiliate for some of these resources, which means I may earn some money if you purchase one of my recommendations.

Software

Camtasia – I use this video editing software to create screen recordings. It's very easy to use and includes a green screen functionality that allows me to insert me talking over the screen cast.

ConvertKit – I use this email marketing software to manage all my mailing lists.

Thrive Themes Suite – After using StudioPress for more than a dozen years, I decided to switch my websites over for Thrive Themes Suite. Not only does it have a built-in site builder that makes designing pages super easy, but the suite includes several tools that that majorly extend the functionality of your website, including adding whole courses. And it works well with aMember.

aMember– I have used the aMember shopping cart for at least a decade now to power all of my one-time sales, subscription/membership offers, and my affiliate programs. The software costs a one-time fee of $180 and then an annual fee of $80 for continued support and updates. This pays for itself whenever I ask tech support to upgrade the software for me on my website and they do it. As for the configuration, I handle this myself with an assist from Lynette Chandler's Member Skills. I highly recommend this video course if you're planning to use aMember for your business and want your site up and running within the weekend — or faster!

reThink Your Hosting – I host my own websites through my web hosting company. You're welcome to check us out, too! We're not just for K-12 teachers, but for anyone who is teaching online.

ClickUp – When I needed a project management and mind mind tool all built into one — and that integrates with Slack, this was the perfect fit. Check it out!

MOO Business Cards – If you're wanting REALLY nice business cards, order their high gloss rounded super business cards in the MOO size. You'll love them!

Headliner – I discovered this video creation app in a podcasting Facebook group. Basically, it lets you create a video to promote your podcast. I'm loving it!

Hardware

Logitech Headset

I use this headset for listening to audio while I'm recording a podcast (so there is no echo random computer sound in my recording) or when I'm on the road and need to listen/chat.
